Marketing Coordinator - VidCon (4 month FTC)

4 Month Fixed Term Contract
VidCon is looking for a Marketing Coordinator to support the execution and development of multimedia marketing campaigns and tactics for VidCon’s tentpole Anaheim event. In this role, the Coordinator will work within the marketing team to support the Company's marketing-related functions including: strategic partnerships, email marketing, creative trafficking, organic social media content ideation, creation, and distribution, press/publicity strategy, ticketing-driven campaigns, and digital marketing efforts.This role works proactively and collaboratively to craft successful marketing campaigns that increase VidCon's brand awareness amongst its key audiences, drives ticket sales, tracks the effectiveness of marketing methods, and reports relevant information after each campaign.
The ideal candidate must work effectively with partners of all levels, possess strong communication skills, and have an attention for detail. They thrive in ambiguous situations and can shift gears to provide support wherever it is most needed, and are not afraid to dive into the nitty gritty.
Responsibilities- Assist with the marketing of VidCon Anaheim in partnership with Marketing Director, Social Media Manager, and SVP of Marketing & Communications
- Help develop marketing strategies and go-to-market plans (cross platform and cross functional) with a cohesive brand vision for the event with the goal of maximizing reach, audience development, and revenue potential via tickets sales.
- Maintain key organizational documents including marketing priorities, planning calendars, creative matrix, email marketing schedule, etc
- Develop and implement comprehensive email marketing strategies that target specific audience segments to achieve business goals.
- Manage email marketing content & distribution including copywriting, graphics, and multimedia elements, to engage subscribers and drive conversions.
- Writes creative briefs, provides executional support (i.e. asset delivery and maintaining a deliverables chart) of multi-platform, mass media campaign activities as needed, and serves as a liaison across teams to ensure various aspects of the media plan are executed accurately and on schedule
- Responsible for real time updating and tracking of all marketing tactics, providing optimization recommendations to be made during the remainder of a campaign
- Support organic social media efforts in brainstorming and creative execution where necessary and ensure successful delivery of requested creative assets for posting on VidCon social platforms
- Assist with copy editing assignments as needed
- Facilitate collaboration with cross-functional teams across a variety of locations and businesses
- Build and manage positive relationships and work effectively with a wide range of internal and external partners of all levels
- Provide administrative calendar support where needed
- College degree in marketing or business related field preferred; or related experience in event and/or entertainment marketing
- Marketing team experience with a major studio, media company, streaming service, brand and/or marketing agency, consumer marketing, marketing communications and/or digital/high-technology consumer companies/products
- Knowledge of the digital creator landscape is a must
- Basic video editing skills are a plus, but not required
- Strong Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel skills
- Experienced with design tools
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and team focus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment!
- Strong project management skills
- Ability to operate with autonomy and discretion
- Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and external agencies/partners
- Fan of/familiarity with VidCon is a plus
- This fixed term contract will have a salary range of $50,000 - $60,000 pro rated
