We're seeking a self-motivated, highly-organized Sr. UX Program Manager to join our Rufus Design team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the team behind Rufus, Amazon's new generative AI-powered shopping assistant. Rufus helps customers find and discover products by providing insights, making recommendations, answering product questions, making comparisons, and more.

Key job responsibilities
  • Lead design operations, including roadmaps, backlogs, and intake
  • Work with UX leadership on prioritization, goal-tracking, and resource planning
  • Drive design review cadences, status updates, and timely delivery across product development lifecycles
  • Build scalable processes for multiple teams and pods to work effectively together
  • Build strong partnerships between Design, Engineering, Data Science, and Product teams
  • Project manage select high-stakes tiger team projects through to delivery

A day in the life

Your day-to-day role focuses on 3 key areas:

Team Enablement
  • Empower the UX team to own their timelines and deliverables
  • Remove obstacles, clarify requirements
  • Manage resource allocation and team capacity
  • Enable designers to focus on core creative work
Process & Operations
  • Drive adherence to communication standards &tools
  • Develop workflows and reporting systems
  • Stay current on systems that maximize team effectiveness

Stakeholder Management

-Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between design, business, and technology teams
  • Provide updates to key stakeholders

As the operational backbone of the UX studio, you ensure the team can deliver exceptional user experiences while managing the framework that supports them.

About the team

The Rufus team is a talented group of designers, engineers, data scientists, and product managers on a mission to define the future of AI-assisted shopping. - 6+ years of design program management experience
  • Experience working and contributing to project playbooks, building schedules, managing issues/risks, establishing communication plans and stakeholder management
  • Experience managing UX programs and working with Design and Research
  • Knowledge of human-centered design process
  • Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies (agile to waterfall)
  • Demonstrated success in resource planning and program delivery- Experience escalating issues, anticipating and making trade-offs, balance the business need versus other constraints and maximize business benefit while building great customer experiences
  • Have an available online portfolio

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $192,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
