Accounts Payable Specialist - Los Angeles

A Non-Profit Healthcare Company in Los Angeles is offering an opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to accounts payable, including processing payments and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process and verify invoices, expense reports, and check requests.
• Ensure proper authorizations from responsible personnel for invoice processing.
• Maintain and update vendor information and accounts payable files.
• Handle the processing of monthly AMEX invoices.
• Prepare weekly check runs and submit for signatures from authorized personnel.
• Distribute signed checks to vendors as directed by authorized personnel.
• Respond to staff and vendor inquiries, and handle requests for credit applications and W-9’s.
• Prepare manual checks as required and arrange stop payments if necessary.
• Record ACH (or EFT) payments and serve as backup for other positions in the department as needed.
• Maintain schedule of contractual obligations and lease payments, and ensure proper paperwork before payments.
• Proficient in MIP software or other financial software required.
• Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or in a similar role.
• Proficient in Account Coding and Accrual Accounting.
• Demonstrated experience in handling Accounting Functions, particularly Accounts Payable (AP).
• Proficiency in using Accounting Software Systems and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
• Proficient in MIP software or other financial software required.
