The Director of Business Systems is a managerial role responsible for providing technical guidance within the organization. The ideal candidate must possess strong technical and leadership skills to solve complex problems, prioritize projects, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners.

The role includes managing application development, database management, the implementation and support of third-party software, and records information management.

Responsibilities:

  • Write complex queries to extract data from SQL and Oracle databases
  • Identify and recommend integrated solutions, products and services to support the company’s business goals and software needs
  • Ensure new software meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications
  • Serve as the project lead for major software initiatives
  • Establish and direct the management of corporate database standards, including disaster recovery, security, and data retention
  • Develop, implement and oversee record management policies and procedures
  • Responsible for planning, monitoring and managing the tasks and assignments for the Business Systems department and ensuring commitments and priorities are met by managing resources
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with external vendors for the evaluation, purchase, implementation, and maintenance of software applications
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of business technology systems, such as consumer information systems, accounting solutions, work management, and payment solutions

Experience with Oracle and MS SQL

Experience with application development and reporting software

Preferred Skills
Development experience with VB.NET, C#.NET, XML, and HTML

Experience with electric utility industry specific third-party software

Education and/or Experience
Minimum 10 years of experience in application development, database management, business process management, application configuration, integration and implementation, and support of business systems
Minimum 5 years of increased supervisory and leadership roles
Bachelor of Science/Arts in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information

Systems or related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
