Position Summary:
A prominent architecture firm is currently seeking a Senior Architectural Project Manager to act as the primary liaison for day-to-day project advancement with our Academic, Healthcare, and Corporate clients. This role presents the successful candidate with a significant opportunity to positively impact both the firm and their professional trajectory.The Senior Architectural Project Manager will collaborate closely with the firms Principals across all facets of the project lifecycle. Position Responsibilities:
- Independently lead internal and external delivery of building or discipline
- Collaborate with the Principal to assess project needs and assist in negotiating an acceptable owner-architect agreement encompassing fee and time schedule
- Exhibit targeted expertise holding a pivotal role within the firm
- Demonstrate exceptional technical proficiency, commitment, and ownership of work
- Act as a mentor across the firm
- Display mastery of project scope, profitability, schedule, and budget, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and with utmost client satisfaction
- Navigate critical issues in collaboration with Principals when dealing with architects, engineers, and officials from other organizations and firms
- Utilize experience and technical knowledge to oversee the quality of construction documents, while considering schedules and budgets, and provide guidance and communication to team leaders and members responsible for workflow and timelines
- Establish cost and work-hour budgets for each project, and monitor project costs and completion status against budget schedules and timelines
- Oversee all relevant correspondence and documents to ensure accuracy, obtain or provide signatures, and seek legal counsel as required
- Coordinate the review and assessment of contractor bids and collaborate with the Principal to present award recommendations to the owner
- Contribute to project marketing by collaborating with Practice Group Leaders as needed, supplying project data, developing proposals, and participating in client interviews
- Offer advice on firm standards (RUG / Technical / Templates / Specs)
- Continuously conduct studies for process enhancement
- Expand industry network, potentially through trade organizations, local events, speaking engagements, or conferences
- Participate in and contribute to performance reviews as necessary
- Act as a consistent point of contact for clients
- Provide daily management and oversight of the team
- Work with external consultants, contractors, product representatives, and fabricators
- Interface and coordinate with other disciplines
- Mentor team members with less experience
- Acquire knowledge of the firm's project types, including health care, academic/lab/research, and corporate/workspace
- Participate in internal committees as required
- Travel as necessary for project surveys and field/site visits during construction
Technical/Professional Skills:
- Proven success in all phases of major new construction, renovation, and interior fit-out projects
- Proficiency in project architect, project management, client management, and external communication skill sets
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, combined with outstanding verbal and written communication abilities
- Experience in public speaking, pursuits, and firm or project marketing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications and project management software
- Presentation skills for effective communication of design ideas
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
Requirements:
As a Senior Architectural Project Manager, candidates must possess exceptional communication, budgeting, and client management skills. Additional requirements for this position include:
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture or equivalent
- Architectural registration is mandatory
- 15 years of industry experience
- Five or more years of experience in Project Management
