CT Technologist - CTTECH24-14322

Location: Long Island City, NY 11102

Duties:

1. Utilize appropriate kV and mA techniques to ensure quality diagnostic CT images.
2. Perform daily quality control calibration checks on all equipment to ensure it is calibrated and functioning properly before any patient study is conducted.
3. Inject patients with radioactive material as per the physician’s order following the prescribed protocol.
4. Observe all department documentation policies by completing all appropriate logs, manuals, and charge documents, and report equipment problems to comply with regulatory agencies.
5. Perform quality control, quality assurance, and safety tests, following radiation safety guidelines to comply with the ALARA principle.
6. Maintain, develop, and retrieve patient films and electronic data for Radiologist interpretation.
7. Order patient-specific radiopharmaceutical doses one day prior to use.
8. Receive radiopharmaceutical on the day of delivery and verify proper receipt as per policy and procedure, ensuring the activity level of the dose is verified prior to administration.

Skills:

• Perform CT procedures according to prescribed protocols to ensure uniformity and accuracy.
• Exercise appropriate judgment to assess and respond to patients' needs before, during, and after visits in the Radiology department.

Education:

• Requires licensing with NYS DOH as a Radiologic Technologist, ARRT certification in Radiography and CT, and BLS certification.
• At least 1 year of CT experience; Graduate of Radiologic Technology program.

Required Certifications & Licenses:

• New York State License (L.R.T)
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with current CT certification
