Healthcare Talent Acquisition Specialist

As Talent Acquisition Specialist, the ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the recruitment process and attracting top-tier healthcare professionals to meet the staffing needs of the Healthcare Career Center employers. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that we are able to deliver exceptional candidates to our employers.
The Healthcare Workforce1 Career Center (HCWF1CC), builds relationships with healthcare sector employers in all five boroughs in both clinical and non-clinical roles.
Workforce1 is a service provided by the NYC Department of Small Business Services that prepares and connects qualified candidates to job opportunities in New York City. We make strong matches for both candidates and employers by using a unique combination of recruitment expertise, industry knowledge, and skill-building workshops to strengthen candidates’ employment prospects.Services are provided to individuals aged 18 and over in all five boroughs of New York City.
Responsibilities:
Successful Elements:
- Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract quality candidates for various healthcare positions
- Collaborate with center leadership and Account Managers to understand staffing needs and create job descriptions that reflect those needs
- Utilize various sourcing methods, including job boards, social media, networking events, and industry-specific platforms, to identify potential candidates
- Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future vacancies.
- Conduct initial screening interviews to assess candidates’ qualifications, skills, and cultural fit within the organization
- Coordinate and facilitate interviews between candidates and account managers.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations and workplace policies throughout the recruitment process, including background checks and credentialing
- Stay informed about local, state, and federal employment laws that affect recruitment in the healthcare sector
- Provide a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process, from initial outreach to onboarding
- Communicate effectively with candidates regarding their application status and feedback
- Track and analyze recruitment metrics to assess the effectiveness of hiring strategies and processes
- Prepare regular reports for management regarding recruitment activities, candidate pipelines, and hiring trends
- Work closely with leadership teams to ensure alignment on recruitment goals and objectives
- Participate in job fairs and industry events to promote the healthcare organization and attract talent
Qualifications:
Required Experience/Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- Proven experience as a Talent Acquisition Specialist, ideally within the healthcare sector
- Strong understanding of healthcare industry roles, qualifications, and regulatory requirements
- Proficient in using applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HR software
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Strong knowledge and experience in Excel and all Microsoft Office products (intermediate/advanced)
- Demonstrated experience in strategic data analysis
- Experience with virtual platforms, such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams; eager and willing to learn new platforms and databases
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret recruitment metrics and make data-driven decisions
- Commitment to maintaining candidate confidentiality and adhering to ethical recruitment practices
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with workforce planning and talent management strategies
- Certification in Human Resources (e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP)
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the workplace
