Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the implementation of a federally mandated initiative aimed at advancing interoperability and improving prior authorization processes. This innovative project will enhance care coordination between members, providers, and payers through the use of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and mobile applications, enabling members to access their healthcare data more easily and facilitating interoperable data exchanges.

The Project Manager will work closely with leadership to coordinate and manage project activities across multiple workstreams. This includes overseeing planning and implementation activities, managing vendors, and ensuring the timely delivery of key project deliverables.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional organizational, time management, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate resources and meet deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of accountability for the management and successful implementation of the interoperability project.
  • Oversee the activities of planning and implementation vendors to ensure timely delivery of services as outlined in contracts.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of business and technical staff to ensure effective project execution and compliance with federal regulations.
  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and related activities to ensure alignment with business needs and timely completion of deliverables.
  • Facilitate project team meetings to communicate status updates and coordinate activities.
  • Prepare presentations, project reports, and other materials to effectively communicate progress, address key issues, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Monitor project risks and issues, develop mitigation strategies, and track action items through resolution.
  • Maintain detailed project documentation and track progress toward milestones.
  • Coordinate team reviews of project deliverables and facilitate participation in key activities such as requirements validation and design document reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with federal funding requirements, including invoice management and reporting related to human resource time and attendance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with team members, leadership, and stakeholders.
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures for project management, procurement, and other related standards.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in the healthcare industry, including successful delivery of healthcare IT projects.
  • Strong ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with management, vendors, and project team members.
  • Proven capability to interact effectively with technical personnel and translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Exceptional documentation and communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to assess priorities, adapt to changing needs, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements, such as HIPAA, Medicare, and Medicaid.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of IT-related project management experience.
  • Experience preparing project documentation.
  • Proficiency in MS Project and MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, Visio, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Project management certification (PMP or equivalent) is a plus.
