Lead Structural Engineer
AZAD is seeking a Lead Structural Engineer for a full-time permanent employment position based in Glen Rose, Texas.
This position is full-time on-site in Glen Rose, Texas. The annual salary range for this position is between $130k-$170k depending on related qualifications and experience.
Essential Functions:
Lead structural engineering efforts, create structural design updates, and coordinate with interdisciplinary teams and vendors to meet deadlines and budget targets.Conduct structural calculations and assessments to support various design activities, such as piping, cable, and small equipment supports, instrument rack design, floor load impacts on concrete, structural evaluations, equipment anchoring, and seismic response analysis.
Collaborate with plant stakeholders to define project scope and requirements, and provide support throughout construction, implementation, and startup phases.Develop cost and time estimates for materials and work hours and define engineering and design timelines.
Apply strong judgement to complex issues or problems, verify the accuracy and compliance of completed work with relevant codes and design standards, and synchronize the structural group's efforts with other engineering disciplines.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from a four-year accredited college or university.10 years of expertise in structural design, specializing in steel and concrete for heavy industrial environments.
Professional Engineering (PE) license with the ability to obtain a PE in Texas.
US Citizenship for security clearance.
Ability to pass a thorough background screening to obtain unescorted access to a nuclear power plant.
Preferred:
5 years of experience in structural modifications and assessments for commercial nuclear power plantsFamiliarity with nuclear standards and guidelines.
NANTeL Certified in the Nuclear Standard Design Process (IP-ENG-01).
Field experience at an operating Nuclear Plant.
