Accounts Receivable Specialist

Growing Manhattan based Real Estate Firm with a portfolio of market walk-up rental properties in NYC is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist. Potential candidate must have a experience working with NYC real estate property management companies with more than 500+ units.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Recording rental income receipts
• Recording security deposit receipts
• Depositing checks into proper bank accounts
• Responding to tenant inquiries regarding their accounts and/or leases
• Executing new leases and move tenants into the property management software
• Maintaining tenant accounts for proper charges, receipts and lease information
• Renewing tenant leases and accounts
• Maintaining cash balance
• Answering tenant phone calls and emails in a timely manner
• Approving drafts of tenant leases
• Tracking and updating records for lease renewals/acceptance
• Proficiency in Accounting Functions is necessary, with a strong understanding of basic principles and practices.
• Must have experience in Accounts Receivable (AR), demonstrating a thorough knowledge of AR procedures and regulations.
• Strong ability to manage Cash Activity is required; applicants must be able to track, record and verify cash transactions with accuracy.
• Familiarity with Yardi software is necessary, as it will be used regularly for accounting and financial management tasks.
• Ability to handle and process checks is required; applicants should be able to issue, record, and verify manual checks as part of financial operations.
