Job Description:

The American Academy of Lymphatic and Wound Management is seeking a qualified and experienced individual to join our team as an Instructor for our Lymphedema Certification Course. This position is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated professional to contribute to the education and training of healthcare practitioners in the field of lymphedema management.

Requirements:

  • Must hold one of the following licenses: Occupational Therapist (OT), Physical Therapist (PT),, Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), or Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA).
  • Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT)
  • Must have Lymphedema Experience
  • Possess Association of North America Lymphology Association (LANA) certification.
  • Minimum of five years of clinical experience in at least two different settings.
  • Proficiency in measuring for custom compression garments and bandaging alternatives.
  • Previous experience conducting continuing education or community education lectures.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and conduct continuing education classes for lymphedema certification.
  • Provide hands-on demonstrations of proper hand techniques and hand placement in manual lymphatic drainage (MLD).
  • Instruct bandaging techniques for both upper extremity and lower extremity bandaging.
  • Demonstrate good organizational and time management skills, modifying schedules as needed.
  • Utilize basic computer skills and operate audio/visual equipment.
  • Lift at least 50 pounds and stand for long periods (at least 1 hour).
  • Provide student evaluations at the end of each session.
  • Demonstrate conflict management skills and provide appropriate feedback to students.
  • Stay current on treatment trends in the lymphedema community.
  • Engage in professional development to maintain and enhance proficiency.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract, Temporary
Pay: $30.00 - $150.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 30 per week

  • Monday to Friday
  • No nights
