About Our Client

Leading aerospace and defense manufacturer

• Identify and evaluate suppliers: Research and assess potential suppliers to source goods, materials, or services that meet the company's needs. This includes conducting supplier audits, performance reviews, and considering factors like cost, quality, and reliability.
• Negotiate contracts: Lead the negotiation of pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to ensure the best value and favorable conditions for the company.
• Manage strategic sourcing: Develop and implement sourcing strategies that align with the company's long-term objectives and provide a competitive advantage. This could involve global sourcing or finding alternatives for supply chain diversification.
• Create and issue purchase orders: After securing agreements with suppliers, issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Manage supplier relationships: Maintain strong and productive relationships with key suppliers, ensuring clear communication and prompt resolution of any issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.
• Monitor supplier performance: Regularly assess supplier performance against service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs). Work with suppliers to resolve issues and improve performance.
• Manage procurement budgets: Oversee purchasing expenditures and ensure purchases are made within budget. Senior buyers often look for ways to achieve cost savings while maintaining product quality.
• Analyze costs and savings: Conduct cost analysis to assess opportunities for cost reductions, supplier discounts, or better payment terms. Develop strategies for optimizing procurement spending.
