Who we are looking for?
We are looking for a qualified software engineer with 2-4 years experience, with primarily Java and SQL experience to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience developing Java-based web services, a track record of high-quality delivery, combined with a keen appetite for all aspects of software development.A desire to learn new skills, be a self-starter and solve problems is essential.
Required skills:
- 2 years+ Java programming experience
- Sound knowledge of software engineering principles and theory
- Sound understanding of DB architectures with SQL writing capabilities
- Spring Framework (Spring Boot)
- Experience consuming, developing and integrating with REST web services
- Source control tools - Git/Mercurial
- Experience working with containers and orchestration (Docker and Kubernetes)
Bonus:
- Understanding of Agile Methodologies such as Scrum
- Proficiency in web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript)
- Experience with front-end frameworks (Angular, React or similar)
- Maven
- Experience with Linux / Ubuntu servers
- Azure Cloud services
What will you do?
The successful candidate will work as a software engineer in our main engineering team, working on:
- Developing new functionality for our Advise platform (backend services, JPA, data modelling, etc.)
- Maintaining our Advise Metadata Hub (our platform for acquiring third-party data sources for integration with our customers first-party data)
- Requirements gathering, estimation, daily stand-ups and other SCRUM activities.
- Role will have a strong relationship with our customers, supporting current customer deployments, data onboarding, etc.
