Templer
Overview:
Job Summary
The Templer is the process of scoring the meat from the temple area of the head. The Templer will use a knife to mark around the temple to remove the meat from the head for it to be removed with the jawbone.
Key Responsibilities:
- Use knife to cut temple meat out.
- Stamp tongue with a U stamp for under 30 months.
- Use scanner to scan tag for: Black tags, under 30, and contaminated.
- Place bag over the head that USDA has stamped out.
- Rinse knife and hand, steel knife, then place knife in sterilizer after each carcass.
- Remove the second knife from sterilizer and begin procedure on next.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications (Required):
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Must be able to work in a humid, hot, wet, slippery, or at varied heights in and around moving equipment and parts with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience/knowledge of manufacturing environment.
- Previous heavy machinery experience in manufacturing environment.
- Previous agriculture production/ beef plant experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Be attentive to detail.
- Ability to work safely, wear PPE, and follow instructions.
- Ability to attend work consistently.
- Always be aware of your surroundings.
- Follow all safety, food safety, and Sanitary dress procedures.
- Able to stand for lengthy periods of time.
- Display strong work ethic.

Summary:
America's Heartland Packing is set to open its doors in early 2025. The 775,000 sq. ft. greenfield project will include a harvest floor, carcass chillers, fabrication area, rendering, further processing area, storage coolers, freezers, and loading docks.
