Content Marketing Manager

SUMMARY: The Content Marketing Manager is responsible for implementing, tracking, and optimizing content strategy and production of high-quality, engaging and relevant content across channels, focusing on driving traffic and leads within target markets.

Working closely with market strategists and function stakeholders, the Content Marketing Manager will curate content plans using creativity and industry knowledge to drive the development of compelling marketing content that educates the market and highlights the company’s value proposition and strengths.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Tasks may include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and Translate marketing strategies into impactful, authentic, engaging content plans. Create and manage an integrated plan and calendar that aligns with therapeutic area strategic plans, responding swiftly to market and commercial strategy changes.
  • Create and execute content campaigns that align with the marketing funnel and generate leads, conversions, and retention; determine most effective channels and methods to reach and engage the target audience.
  • Edit, proofread, and optimize the content for SEO, readability, and conversion.
  • Publish, update, and organize content using content management systems and tools across different channels and platforms,
  • Evaluate and report on the performance and impact of the content marketing efforts, including defining and tracking key metrics and indicators that reflect the content goals and objectives.
  • Make data-driven decisions and recommendations for improvement of content strategy across traditional and digital channels.
  • Conduct content audits, gap analyses, and competitive assessments with a keen eye for adapting our strategy to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Identify trends and insights and optimize spend and performance based on the insights.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies. Provide thought leadership and perspective for adoption where appropriate.
  • Assist in the management of freelancers and vendors, adapting strategies as needed to meet evolving project requirements and deadlines.
  • Assist in the project management of content initiatives.
  • Work closely with the digital team to ensure that content follows the company’s SEO strategy and that digital distribution platforms (email, social media, etc.) are aligned with our overall content strategy. Adapt to new SEO trends and digital platform updates to keep our content strategy ahead of the curve.
  • Follow brand and messaging guidelines to ensure that all content is aligned with brand values, while remaining flexible to evolve these messages as the brand grows and market demands shift.

  • Ability to navigate relationships smoothly and professionally with stakeholders outside marketing to ensure teamwork across the organization
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to clearly and concisely develop and present information
  • Strong organizational management skills with exceptional ability to prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Proficiency in all MS-Office applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in content development and/or communications in a corporate or agency environment, with proven track record creating marketing content.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with an ability to gather information to develop storytelling that aligns with marketing strategy.
  • Experience managing agencies and consultants.
  • Project management skills to manage schedules and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with principles of marketing and graphic design.
  • Strong strategic planning and analysis skills in marketing and content strategy.
  • Demonstrated communication skills, a positive attitude, a team player, and the ability to achieve set targets.
  • Detail- and service-oriented, and able to work under pressure.
  • Self-motivated with a tenacious drive for results. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective internal and external relationships.

Promotion to the next level is not automatic based on years of experience. Personnel are evaluated on proven competency, level of responsibility, and ability to work independently.
