The Brand & Corporate Communications Leader is responsible for managing the organization’s brand, content, and internal & external communications strategies. The role will oversee all aspects of brand and identity strategy, internal communications, and earned media strategies.

The ideal candidate is strategic, with strong leadership and influencing skills, and a deep understanding of brand development and communications tactics.

Responsibilities:

Brand strategy:

  • Lead the development, maintenance, and evolution of the MidWestOne brand image and identity while ensuring consistency across all channels and materials that aligns with the company’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Oversees the production of creative content, including written, visual, and multimedia assets, that support the brand’s messaging and engages target audiences while ensuring consistency and quality across all channels in a timely manner.
Media and Public Relations
  • Oversee the strategy and execution of public relations initiatives, driving positive media coverage and brand awareness.
  • Manage public relations agency relationships to enhance brand reach and impact.
  • Develop, maintain, and evolve a social media strategy, managed by a dedicated social media lead, crafting engaging content and monitoring online conversations to enhance brand reputation.
  • Maintain and implement crisis communications plans to manage potential issues and protect the company’s reputation.
  • Craft and manage a corporate sponsorship and community engagement strategy to deliver on the MidWestOne mission and values of being a key community bank across the regions we serve.
  • Utilize data and analytics to measure the impact of communication efforts and make thoughtful, data-driven decisions.
  • See data beyond impressions and reach, truly understanding the acquisition value of earned media, and able to tell the story.

Internal communications:

  • Creates and executes internal and external communications strategies that effectively convey key messages to diverse stakeholders across a variety of channels.
  • Manages and supports internal communications channels and tactics such as company intranet site, events, townhalls, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of post high school education and related work experience.
  • In addition to education in the field of marketing, prefer 7 years of experience in a brand management and corporate communications-related role.
  • Banking or financial institution experience is preferred.
