2nd shift Saw Operator - Albert Lea

Position Description:
Move materials, raw steel, supplies and finished goods on and off saw beds, racks, and to designated places within the facility. Stage raw materials for saw cutting to length. Utilized manual and CNC operated saws.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for assisting unloading and loading of trucks, vans, flatbeds, forklift etc.
- Handling of material and product within the saw area and throughout the manufacturing departments as required.
- Manually or using hand truck, forklift, to perform various material handling duties in the facility.
- Load and stage raw bar and tube stock for tube lasers and saw area.
- Stack skids or pallets in designated areas. Clean up and dispose of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping and place in proper containers or designated areas.
- Use tools such as hammers, and crowbars to remove strapping, open crates, strap cars.
- Stage and store WIP in the fabrication area to keep material flow and organization by dates and locations.
- Work with Leads, techs, and supervisor to stage materials for daily production through the saw area.
- Cycle count raw bar, and round stock, tubes and angle and assist stockroom on raw material counts and assessment of damaged and deteriorated materials.
- Use scanning equipment to track material moves.
- Manually lift materials up to 50lbs. and utilize hoist, straps, and forklifts to move raw stock up to 24 ft in length.
- Use inspection equipment for quality assurance such as tape measure, square and calipers.
- Perform daily maintenance on saws up to and including changing saw blades, scrap and chip removal, filling of coolant and coolant storage tanks.

Requirements:
- High School diploma
- Forklift training certificate
- Basic math skills
- Good communication skills
- Computer skills with basic keyboarding and data entry
- Well organized and accurate
- Requires multi-tasking and flexibility to meet department needs.
- Requires passing a pre-employment screening – drug screen included.
