The Community Choice Financial® Family of Brands is seeking an Accounts Payable Supervisor. The Accounts Payable Supervisor is responsible for computing, classifying, and recording numerical data to keep financial records complete including the posting of monthly journal entries.Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. Ensure the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions recorded by other workers.
Supervise and coordinate the activities of accounts payable staff. Enforce policy and procedures. Create a positive, respectful, friendly environment among peers, superiors and customers.
Responsibilities:
- Operate 10-key calculators, computers, and copy machines to perform calculations and produce documents.
- Operate computers programmed with accounting software to record, store, and analyze information.
- Process monthly journal entries in specialized accounting software.
- Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
- Approve accounts payable voucher packets prior to submitting to management for final approval.
- Communicate with field staff to rectify discrepancies when necessary.
- Access computerized financial information to answer general questions as well as those related to specific accounts.
- Process and reconcile Check and ACH runs.
- Set up and manage vendors.
- Manage year end 1099 process.
- Manage miscellaneous check deposit process.
- Manage employee credit card review and posting of credit card transactions to journal ledger.
- Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
- May complete special projects as assigned by Corporate Controller and Chief Financial Officer.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
- 5 years accounting experience to including accounts payable.
