Accounting Manager/Controller

The successful candidate will also be required to assist with financial reporting, perform reconciliations, and ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the preparation, submission, and tracking of AIA billing documents for various construction projects while adhering to AIA billing guidelines and industry standards.
• Assist in maintaining accurate financial records through careful data entry of financial transactions into accounting software, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
• Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to track project costs, process subcontractor invoices, and assist with cost allocation to specific projects.
• Assist in preparing financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements to support management decision-making.
• Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies or errors.
• Monitor and process vendor invoices and payments and follow up on overdue accounts receivable.
• Organize and maintain financial records, ensuring documents are appropriately filed and easily accessible for audit purposes.
• Stay updated on relevant industry regulations, accounting principles, and tax laws to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvement.
• Work closely with the finance team, project managers, and other departments to support financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a relevant role such as Accounting Manager or Controller
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Demonstrable experience in auditing
• Familiarity with Deltek ComputerEase software
• Experience with AIA Billing
• Ability to produce accurate financial reports
• Proven experience in preparing financial statements
• Experience in Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation
• Proficiency in Bank Reconciliations
• Experience in Credit Card Reconciliation
• Familiarity with WIP - Work In Progress
• Proven ability to handle Month End Close procedures
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Professional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus
