Dispatcher

Key Responsibilities:

1. Scheduling and Assignments:

• Coordinate, assign, and dispatch personnel, vehicles, equipment, or shipments as needed.
• Create and manage daily schedules to maximize efficiency and reduce operational delays.

1. Communication:

• Act as the main point of contact for drivers, field staff, and customers to convey updated schedules, instructions, or changes.
• Respond promptly to inquiries from clients and employees, maintaining excellent customer service.

1. Monitoring and Reporting:

• Track fleet or personnel movements via GPS, routing software, and other logistics tools.
• Document activities, delays, and resolutions to provide accurate reporting to management.

1. Problem Solving and Decision Making:

• Address and resolve unforeseen issues such as delays, cancellations, or emergencies with efficiency and professionalism.
• Reallocate resources or modify schedules to ensure timely service delivery.

1. Compliance and Safety:

• Ensure all staff adhere to company policies, safety protocols, and regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate records of dispatch logs, communications, and relevant documentation.

1. Coordination with Teams:

• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and other departments to ensure resources are available and functioning properly.
• Support team efforts to implement process improvements or achieve performance goals.

Qualifications:

1. Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in logistics, transportation, or a related field is a plus.

1. Experience:

• Previous experience as a dispatcher, logistics coordinator, or in a similar role (typically 1–3 years).
• Familiarity with dispatching tools, logistics management software, or GPS routing systems.

1. Skills:

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage overlapping duties in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities to address logistics challenges.
• Proficiency in computer applications like MS Office and dispatch or routing software.
