YOUR ROLE: As a Production Scientist on our master mix and buffer team, you will be responsible for the routine manufacturing of DNA purification and amplification solutions that support multiple product lines and customer needs. You will also collaborate closely with our R&D team to contribute to new product development, perform assays to ensure the quality and functionality of products, and work toward process improvements on existing products.

YOUR EXPERIENCE: We are seeking a scientist with strong laboratory skills and a passion for continuous learning. The ideal candidate will be familiar with DNA purification and amplification techniques, have experience running agarose gels, handling RNA, and possess strong pipetting skills.

CORE DUTIES:

  1. Manufacture a variety of products to meet specifications and ensure timely delivery.
  2. Perform assays to ensure product quality, including raw material evaluations.
  3. Understand and follow quality requirements for the work area, maintaining proper documentation.
  4. Assist with writing, reviewing, and revising manufacturing and QC protocols for clarity, improvements, or changes.
  5. Design experiments to improve existing manufacturing and QC processes.
  6. Support project plans and experimental design, providing data to others and assisting with implementation.
  7. Contribute technical support to product improvement or development teams, interacting with Marketing, QA, and R&D as needed.
  8. Promote inclusion, ensuring a safe and respectful workspace.
  9. Embrace Promega’s Emotional & Social Intelligence (ESI) principles in daily work.
  10. Comply with all ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements applicable to our business.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A.D., B.S., or M.S. in a scientific discipline (e.g. Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology) with 3+ years of postgraduate lab experience.
  2. Documented record of experimental design and problem-solving relevant to this role.
  3. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  4. Ability to interpret and communicate scientific results effectively within a team.
  5. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Industry experience.
  2. Familiarity with ISO 9001 or cGMP Quality System requirements.
  3. Experience with experimental data collection and analysis.
  4. Self-starter with creativity and initiative to meet position requirements.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  1. Ability to work at a laboratory bench for extended periods.
  2. Comfortable handling hazardous materials while ensuring safety.
  3. Use of standard laboratory protective equipment.
