Responsibilities

Our client is seeking a skilled Data Scientist/Cloud Developer to design, develop, and deploy secure, maintainable, and reliable software within a cloud infrastructure supporting mission-critical operations. This role involves full-spectrum analytic technical support, from requirements gathering to the deployment of analytic products, to support intelligence and mission operations.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop analytic solutions tailored to user requirements while ensuring the security and reliability of sensitive data and models.

  • Design, develop, and deploy cloud-based software solutions, including executable functions (e.g., AWS Lambda or Azure Functions) that support mission-critical operations
  • Provide full-spectrum analytic support, including requirements collection, environment configuration, exploratory data analysis, model development, and results communication
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify relevant data sources, access infrastructure, and develop tailored analytic products
  • Utilize containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes to enhance software deployment and management
  • Engage in Agile development practices, leveraging tools like Jira to manage project tasks and workflows
  • Communicate complex technical concepts and results to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding and alignment with mission objectives
  • Forecast and outline technical tasks to guide weekly development efforts, ensuring project milestones are met
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of technical architecture and development approaches
Requirements
  • At least 4 years of STEM-related work experience with a bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, or 2 years of relevant work experience with a STEM master’s degree
  • 4+ years of experience in cloud development, with a focus on one of the major cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
  • Proven experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
  • Hands-on experience in object-oriented programming with a language such as C++, Java, or Python (Python preferred)
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and related tools, such as Jir
Preferred Requirements
  • Familiarity and experience with the Intelligence Community (IC) and the intelligence cycle
  • Familiarity and experience with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
  • A demonstrated ability and eagerness to learn new technologies and methodologies
Education/Certification Requirements
  • At least 4 years of STEM-related work experience with a bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, or 2 years of relevant work experience with a STEM master’s degree
Clearance Requirements
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; an active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a SCI is required. Please be aware that onboarding can take 4-6 weeks for this position.
