NATIONWIDE SEARCH – A warm and loving family in Lookout Mountain (Chattanooga), TN, is seeking a kind, experienced, and educationally minded LIVE-IN NANNY to join their household! They have a joyful 2.5-year-old daughter and are expecting a second daughter in December.A Newborn Care Specialist is secured for the first four months, and a local nanny is already in place. The family's goal is to provide each child with 1:1 care. The mother, a stay-at-home mom, values a collaborative approach when not assisting with her husband’s business, and they are looking for a true team player, especially as the father travels often.
The schedule is typically Monday–Friday or Tuesday–Saturday, with 40–50 hours per week, and up to 60 hours when needed. Flexibility is essential as the family adjusts to the new baby’s arrival. While the schedule may shift from time to time, the family ensures advance notice before any changes.
Their 2.5-year-old daughter is bright, talkative, and attends school twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.). She loves activities such as reading, teatime, and playing with animals. The family seeks a structured, kind, and active nanny who is passionate about child development and creativity.The ideal candidate will know when to take initiative and when to give the family space, while maintaining a positive, respectful attitude toward their Christian values, including encouraging the girls to say their prayers each night.
Key responsibilities include planning educational activities, preparing nutritious meals, driving to school and activities, light housekeeping related to the children, and collaborating with the parents. The nanny will live in a private, fully furnished two-story carriage house and have access to a vehicle for personal use.
Ideal candidates will have strong infant and toddler experience, a deep understanding of early childhood development, and an educational approach. The nanny must be pet-friendly, as the family has a Golden Retriever and a White Persian cat. They should also be a strong swimmer and travel-ready, as the nanny will accompany the family on trips.Vaccinations, including Tdap and annual flu shots, are required, and COVID vaccination is preferred.
Compensation is $30/hr gross (on payroll), with benefits including paid time off, medical, dental, vision, 401(k), housing, utilities, and use of a family vehicle. Qualifications:
BA/BS college degree | AA in related field of study
CPR/First Aid Certification (renew as needed)
Ability to make a one-year commitment unless applying for a temporary position
A passion for working with children
Two+ years childcare experience
Excellent work and personal references
U.S. driver's license (this does not apply to NYC residents)
Complete Stop the Silence Training upon Membership
Fluent in English/Bilingual a plus
Competent swimmer
Non-smoker
Willing to go through extensive Background Check
Must be Live-Scanned and registered with Trustline if CA resident
Willingness to show proof of immunizations
No-cell phone driving signed guarantee
Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
