Responsibilities:
The Providence Medical Center (PMC) Rehabilitation Department is looking for a dynamic Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our Speech Therapy team. This is a per diem position with weekday and weekend hours available. Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) duties include, but are not limited to:
- provide coverage for inpatients in the acute care setting
- the candidate who fills this position will provide coverage for hospital inpatients in the acute care setting
- responsible for the evaluation, treatment planning and implementation of treatment for patients demonstrating disorders of speech, language, cognition, swallowing and other services prescribed by a physician
- 90%-95% of our referral are swallow related; we do some cognitive/speech evaluations and treatment as well
- assists in developing and implementing new and ongoing programs beneficial for the enhancement of the department
- weekend shifts are on-call shifts with on-call pay if called in
Qualifications:
Education and Work Experience- graduate of an accredited college or university with Bachelor's in speech therapy, required
- licensed by the state in Speech-Language Pathology
- MS degree in Speech-Language Pathology, preferred
- one year of experience with swallow assessment and treatment in an acute care hospital setting, preferred
- one year of experience in acute care, preferred
- current BLS for healthcare provider's certification upon hire and maintain current
