Employee Benefits Sales Executive

A leading insurance agency specializing in niche industries is seeking a driven and experienced Sales Executive to join their team. This individual will be responsible for understanding the unique insurance benefit needs of clients within these specialized industries, mastering available products, and educating clients and prospects on their options.

The primary focus will be prospecting and selling to new groups, as well as cross-selling to existing clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare applications, gather necessary information, and manage submission details for new business and renewals.
  • Assess client benefit needs and present tailored proposals to prospects and clients.
  • Attend board meetings to secure new coverage and educate current clients on their existing plans.
  • Manage renewal checklists efficiently.
  • Actively generate new leads and accounts through various methods, including cold calling, visits, referrals, and account development.
  • Travel regularly (2-3 days per week) for face-to-face interactions with existing and prospective clients (remaining time spent in office or remotely).
  • Service existing accounts during renewals.
  • Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and company meetings.
  • Meet or exceed annual sales goals, maintain production reports, and track progress.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills:

  • Proven track record of sales success, ideally in employee benefits.
  • Strong self-discipline, motivation, and time management skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including agency management systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word).
  • Positive team player with a collaborative approach.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and achieve established goals.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Accountability and commitment to delivering results.

Experience:

  • Demonstrated sales success in insurance or another industry.
  • Strong persuasion skills and interpersonal abilities.
  • Employee benefits knowledge or experience is highly desirable.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

License:

  • Texas Life & Health Insurance license required.
  • Property & Casualty license preferred.
