Host/Hostess

Overview:

The Healthcare Host/Hostess ensures the accurate and timely delivery of patient meal trays and floor stock, as well as following sanitation procedures and the use of technical equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver meal carts to designated patient areas.
• Serve trays to patients, assist with opening containers and cutting food.
• Take and replenish nourishment orders, and deliver to units.
• Record special food items served to patients.
• Prepare and stock beverages, coffee, and tea.
• Assemble and deliver patient trays.
• Maintain cleanliness, including dishware and equipment sanitation.
• Attend all relevant training sessions and comply with safety protocols.
• Report accidents and injuries promptly.
• Participate in safety meetings and hazard assessments.
• Prepare dinner rolls and polish silverware for patient trays.
• Follow FirstHealth policies and HACCP guidelines.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

• Significant walking.
• Ability to stand for long periods (up to 8 hours).
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push/pull, and lift up to 35 pounds frequently; occasionally up to 40 pounds.

Working Conditions:

• Varying schedule, including evenings, holidays, weekends, and extended hours as needed.
