Responsibilities:

The Senior Director is a Registered Nurse who assumes 24-hour administrative responsibility for the management of the Maternal Child Health department. Supervises, assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the delivery of patient care. Develops and implements departmental plans, including performance improvement activities and compliance with current regulations.
Assumes 24-hour accountability for the departments. Supervises and evaluates all personnel assigned to the unit and effectively utilizes nursing personnel, time responsibilities for the unit and is directly accountable to the CNO/EDON. Communicates with staff, physicians and administration both written and verbally.
The Senior Director is responsible for direction of patient care in the operative environment. The Director manages the staff members in the Maternal Child Health department. Consults with staff, physicians and Nurse Executive on nursing issues and interpretation of hospital policies to ensure patient needs are met.

Maintains performance improvement activities within the department and participates in PI activities/ formulates budget for the department. The Senior Director works collaboratively with other Prime hospitals with like services and may serve as a subject matter expert due to SFMC comprehensive services.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
  1. Current and valid state license as a Registered Nurse.
  2. Current BLS Certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  3. A minimum of 5 (five) years supervisory/management experience necessary.
  4. Minimum 2 (two) years experience as a perinatal nurse in an acute care setting.
  5. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required for all new hires after 1/11/2021.
  6. Master’s Degree (MSN, MHA, MBA, MPH or similar) required.

Benefits may vary based on employment status, i.e. full-time, part-time, per diem or temporary. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $117,104.00 to $181,001.60 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
