Job Title: Senior Project Accountant (Hybrid) We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Accountant. In this role, you will be responsible for managing accounts receivable and reconciling field accounts. Your main duties will encompass a range of financial tasks, ensuring accuracy and compliance in USG (United States Government) contracting environments.
Key Responsibilities:
-Prepare, review, and process complex billing vouchers for various USG contract types, including Cost Plus, Time & Material, and Fixed Price with CLIN structures budgets.-Generate general ledger accounting journal entries and reconcile field office advance and cash accounts.-Review field receipts and supporting documentation for justification of approved expenditures and prepare monthly billing vouchers.-Resolve intricate invoicing and reconciliation issues on field office accounts.-Collaborate closely with project teams and field offices to prepare accurate monthly vouchers.-Monitor, track, and analyze approved project expenses in relation to the budget.-Review labor and expense charges for accuracy in accordance with contract terms.-Serve as a financial and accounting liaison between Home and Field Office teams.-Provide routine support to the Controller to ensure compliance with assigned contracts.-Produce periodic budget variances, pipeline, and funding analysis reports for all contract portfolios.-Maintain budgetary control over assigned contracts using appropriate bookkeeping and cost control systems.
Candidate Requirements:
-Demonstrated sound judgment, foresight, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.-Excellent business communication, organizational, and analytical skills.-Knowledge of generally accepted budgeting and accounting principles.-Ability to interpret complex policies, rules, and regulations.
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting.-5+ years of experience in USG accounting or finance.-Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word; familiarity with Deltek Costpoint is required, and experience with QuickBooks software is a plus.
