Responsibilities
Here are some typical job duties for stacking 50-pound sacks or boxes of raw produce:
- **Safety Compliance**: Follow all safety guidelines to prevent injuries, including proper lifting techniques and use of personal protective equipment.
- **Material Handling**: Carefully lift, stack, and organize sacks or boxes of produce, ensuring they are stable and securely positioned.
- **Inventory Management**: Assist with inventory checks, ensuring accurate counts and organization of produce items in storage areas.
- **Equipment Operation**: Use forklifts or pallet jacks when necessary, adhering to safety protocols and training requirements.
- **Cleaning and Maintenance**: Keep work areas clean and free of debris, and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards.
- **Quality Control**: Inspect products for quality and report any damaged items to supervisors.
- **Team Collaboration**: Work effectively with team members to optimize workflow and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- **Loading and Unloading**: Assist in loading and unloading delivery trucks, ensuring produce is handled carefully.
- **Documentation**: Complete necessary paperwork related to inventory and deliveries as required.
- **Physical Endurance**: Maintain stamina for lifting heavy loads repeatedly throughout the shift.
