One of our valued clients is seeking an experienced Machinist (WAAM Operator) to joint their team. The WAAM Operator will set up and operate WAAM equipment, including welding machines, robotic arms, and CNC motion systems.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience working with WAAM machines (AML3D or Gefertec) and possess a strong understanding of WAAM processes and equipment. Experience in defense or aerospace manufacturing, particularly with WAAM or 5-axis milling machines, is highly preferred.

responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate WAAM equipment, including welding machines and robotic arms or CNC motion systems
  • Monitor and control WAAM process parameters to ensure part quality and conformity to specifications
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on WAAM equipment
  • Conduct quality checks on produced parts and make necessary adjustments
  • Collaborate with engineers and designers to optimize WAAM processes and part designs
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in welding, additive manufacturing, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience operating WAAM machines (AML3D or Gefertec).
  • Knowledge of welding and steel fabrication methods.
  • strong understanding of WAAM processes and equipment.
  • Experience in defense/aerospace manufacturing with WAAM or 5-axis milling machines.
  • Familiar with CAD/CAM software and CNC programming.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on precision.
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • strong problem-solving skills and can work independently.
  • Welding or additive manufacturing certification is preferred.
