Role Summary:

Manage the production process from order placement, through manufacturing and delivery of finished goods, to ensure the on time delivery of quality garments. Develop strategies to meet merchant expectations from both business and service perspectives.

Role Responsibilities:

Develop and adhere to production calendars. Analyze results regularly to look for opportunities.
  • Management of Supplier Base for a Corporate & Brand Perspective; review, maintain, and analyze all factory and brand reports highlighting areas of opportunity for improvements both internally and externally.
  • Help develop and monitor production capacities for vendors on a monthly basis with the intent to book production space as required
  • Manage TOP process/standards including status of vendors with regards to the release shipments prior to TOP approval and make recommendations accordingly
  • Manage QA process/standards in conjunction with the DC with regards to the release of shipments and make recommendations accordingly. Organize and implement a plan to suggest which suppliers can skip the QA step in the DC based on statistical performance
  • Manage Shipping Compliance results in conjunction with the DC to ensure suppliers are following required procedures as detailed in the Routing Guides and train suppliers further that do not meet the requirement consistently
  • Analyze lead time results for both Bulk Productions & Reorders on a regular basis. Help establish standards; highlight and act upon opportunities within vendors lead times

Manage the Time and Action Process:

  • Be an expert in Production Lead-times globally and use the knowledge to challenge vendors, working to reduce when possible.
  • Manage all chase and reorders for the brand
  • Advise appropriate deliveries for finalizations
  • Manage all color and style assort dates with merchants to ensure both flexibility and on time deliveries
  • Manage the 2^nd & 3^rd Bulk fittings to ensure all final fits are approved prior to target approval date

Management of WIP:

  • Manage the order placement process to ensure the best possible deliveries are acquired
  • Set place dates for merchants when required
  • Monitor WIP for potential delivery issues—troubleshoot and offer workable strategic solutions
  • Monitor Production time & action dates and manage issues by exception
  • Manage other production related responsibilities such as chargebacks and fabric & trim liabilities
  • Ensure PO procedure is followed by Merchant Team and deadlines are met

Personnel Management:

  • Supervise the efforts of the production coordinators and assistants
  • Responsible for personnel duties regarding the team such as monitoring performance, training, providing motivation and constructive feedback
  • Identify and develop staff for succession planning
  • Develop and execute cross-functional training activities

Role Qualifications:

  • Ability to work with all levels of Management
  • Ability to think analytically and plan strategically to the needs of the business
  • Strong communication skills necessary to orchestrate the efforts of others, both inside and outside of the company, in order to achieve the desired end result
  • Organization skills to handle multiple tasks and reports and complete them within deadlines
  • Problem predicting and problem solving skills that allow for a proactive approach to the business
Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in fashion related field

Experience Requirement: 5-7 years’ experience in apparel production and/or import business.
