Job Description:

Dewberry is currently seeking a Construction Superintendent for a project located in Richmond VA area. The Construction Superintendent will be responsible for oversite on commercial construction projects.

The typical projects include new, renovations and retrofits to small office and warehouse facilities, retail facilities, and building mechanical, electrical and controls systems. Projects also include site civil construction related to ancillary systems, lighting, security systems, security fencing, access drives and parking, on-site lighting systems, stormwater management systems, and other associated with the improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee new, renovations and retrofit to buildings on projects that are up to $10 million in construction, including project planning through implementation
  • Supervise and coordinate onsite personnel and subcontractors to ensure schedule compliance
  • Effectively manage projects to minimize changes, delays and interference with end user
  • Interface with project inspectors, architects, engineer’s clients and local officials
  • Maintain the standards and compliance with plans, specifications, and codes
  • Update and maintain daily logs, project documents for revisions, change orders, ASI’s, etc.
  • Develop Job Hazard Analysis forms, conduct weekly toolbox safety talks and ensure compliance with OSHA guidelines
  • Maintain a clean and safe jobsite
  • Develop and update construction schedules (Microsoft Project or P6 experience preferred)

Required Skills & Required Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience working in the field
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and ability to oversee multi-trade projects.
  • Must have experience managing construction related to both building and site civil construction activities.
  • Knowledge and use of Procore is preferred
  • Minimum of OSHA 10 and First/Aid CPR Certificate required
  • Proficient knowledge and experience with Microsoft software including excel, project and word; as well as scheduling tools (MS Project, P6, etc.) preferred.
  • Experience working in occupied facilities preferred
  • Respectful and effective written and verbal communication

Must have a valid driver’s license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.
