As a Lead Medical Assistant, you’ll oversee back-office duties with collaboration and direction by Office Manager and Physicians and help facilitate the flow of the office acting as a liaison between the physicians and patients by working directly with the physician to provide high quality customer service and clinical care.

  • This is a full-time role involving rotating 12-hour weekday shifts with no weekends.
  • Our Primary Care clinic operates in a busy, fast-paced environment, and we seek a candidate who thrives under such conditions.

Selected Responsibilities:

  • Assist in hiring new employees for the clinic
  • Completes monthly safety checklist
  • Participates in training of new hires and/or current staff regarding Medical Assistant Procedures and Responsibilities
  • Ensures Avance Care competency checks completed on all new clinical employees
  • Oversees and ensures completion of tasks performed in the back office
  • In collaboration with the Office Manager, the Lead Medical Assistant will:
  • Assist in implementation of new tasks and protocols
  • Assist with staff meetings/huddles and provide feedback regarding issues in the back office
  • Distribute work tasks in and to the department
  • Assist with daily/weekly/monthly tasks including, but not limited to weekly deposits
  • Meeting/Greeting/Assisting patients promptly, efficiently, and in a professional manner
  • Answer telephones promptly for nurse calls
  • Performs administrative and clinical duties as workload necessitates

Candidates should have a High School Diploma, or equivalent and preferably one of the following certifications: CMA, CCMA, RMA, or EMT, along with at least two years of Lead Medical Assistant experience.

  • Acts as a role model within the clinic
  • Maintains a positive, respectful attitude, high team spirit and morale
  • Communicates between the front and back end of the clinic
  • Demonstrates flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload
