Quality Assurance Manager
Quality Assurance plans and coordinates weld inspections, welder certifications, NDE testing activities necessary to ensure quality issues and defects are appropriately identified, documented, tracked, and resolved. Responsibilities and Duties Outline of daily responsibilities and functions/duties.-Draft quality assurance forms, policies, and procedures-Interpret and implement quality assurance standards-Maintain and assure documentation of inadequacies and assist in resolutions-Handle first article paperwork, inspection, certificates of non-conformance, and material certifications-Document, review due dates, inspect, calibrate, and maintain all precision measuring tooling in good working condition.-Update the Quality Control Manual annually with controlled revisions-Develop, recommend, and monitor corrective and preventive actions-Develop and carry out customer and vendor surveys-Monitor risk management activities Qualifications and Skills-Candidate must be reliable, a strong team player and regular attendance is required-Knowledge of AWS (D1.1, D1.3, D1.6) and ASME (B31.1 & B31.3) welding specifications.-Ability to interpret welding symbols per AWS A2.4-AWS CWI Certifications are an advantage-Knowledge of the fabrication process of a comprehensive steel fabrication/manufacturing company-Knowledge of principles & practices of data collection and analysis-Willingness to learn new computer software programs-Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements-Ability to interpret & explain company policies and procedures-Read & understand advanced blue prints, mechanical drawings, tolerances & technical specifications-Perform a wide range of in process, final product & receiving inspection operations in compliance with practices & procedures of the quality control manual & in accordance with engineering & customer specifications EXPERIENCE: 5+ years of quality assurance with an emphasis in metal fabrication Quality inspection, auditing & testing experience Experience with implementation of corrective action programs AutoCad & Solidworks experience a plus
