Axient is seeking a Mid-level Software Engineer with Power Platform experience to join our team in Greenbelt MD!

Axient is searching for candidates for a full-time MS Power Platform Developer in the Washington DC area, specifically in Greenbelt, MD. The position supports the GSFC Safety and Mission Assurance directorate (SMA ) The candidate will support development and sustainment responsibilities and activities of the design, implementation and transition.

The right candidate should be able to quickly grasp architectures and develop new ones while learning and utilizing the latest technologies. The candidate must be a able to work with a team, be able to guide and mentor potential junior members throughout the software development process, from design and implementation to testing, documentation and delivery.

Responsibilities.

As a Power Platform Developer your goals will be to build Model-Driven PowerApps, automate data processes with Power Automate, Dataverse, and SharePoint as well as build Power BI reports to support KPI's as well as design Model-Driven/Canvas PowerApps that support KPI's/OKR's.

What you will do...:

as a MSPP Developer you will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing applications on the Microsoft Power Apps platform, the Microsoft Power Apps Developer works with stakeholders to gather requirements, build Solutions, and ensure successful application deployment that drives business efficiency and innovation.

This role involves troubleshooting issues, optimizing application performance, and staying updated with platform advancements to enhance the functionality and impact of Power Apps solutions continuously.

What you will do (primary responsibilities):

As a member of the Development Team, you will:

  • Develop applications with Microsoft Power Apps to meet business requirements and streamline processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and translate requirements into functional solutions.
  • Design, test, and deploy applications incorporating user interfaces, workflows, and data integrations.
  • Ensure applications are efficient, scalable, and offer a user-friendly experience.
  • Maintain, update, and support Power Apps applications to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Power Apps applications and integrations.
  • Document application development processes, including design specifications and user guides.
  • Stay updated with the latest features and best practices for Microsoft Power Apps to improve application quality continuously.

Skills you will need...:

Required Skills:

  • Prior experience in application development, with at least 3 years of professional focus on Microsoft Power Apps.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Power Apps development, including Canvas Apps, Model-Driven Apps, and Power Automate.
  • Experience with SQL, relational databases, and data integration.
  • Experience with Implementing JavaScript customizations on forms and ribbons in Power Apps (Model-driven).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Familiarity with custom connectors and APIs for integrating external data sources into Power Apps.
  • Knowledge of best practices for app performance optimization and security within the Power Apps platform.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete project tasks
  • Experience working within an Agile development team

Desired:

  • Relevant certifications (such as Microsoft Certified: Power Apps Developer Associate or Power Platform Developer Associate).
  • Background in integrating Power Apps with other Microsoft services (e.g., SharePoint, Dynamics 365).
  • Experience with Azure services and cloud-based solutions.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript or other programming languages for advanced customizations.
