Workers' Compensation Paralegal II
Overview:
AmTrust Financial Services, Inc., a fast-growing commercial insurance company, has an immediate need for an in-house Paralegal to work in our Florida Staff Counsel office.
This position is hybrid out of our Boca Raton office.
Responsibilities:
- Research and analyze law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decision and legal articles to prepare legal documents including; briefs, pleadings, motions and appeals
- Compile and prepare draft discovery responses.
- Draft complex motions
- Assist in the preparation for trials, including trial notebooks, exhibits, subpoenas and witness coordination
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, adversaries, witnesses, court, and team members
- Interact with people of all levels of the company as a member of the legal team
- Capability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-oriented setting
- Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet manner
- Manage and prioritize completing deadlines
- Maintain data integrity in computer platform
- Support multiple attorneys in the defense of workers’ compensation cases.
Qualifications:
- Formal paralegal certificate
- 5 or more years of experience as a paralegal
- FL Workers’ Compensation experience preferred
- 3 years demonstrated experience in defense litigation
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Superior interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and multi-task required
- Dynamic deadline-oriented work environment
