Maintenance Technical Manager (Lead, plan, and coordinate maintenance processes for all shifts) Location: Gurnee, IL Salary: $110K - $150K per year Shift: 1st shift
Role Summary: Randstad is seeking a Maintenance Technical Manager to join our client’s team in Gurnee. This position is responsible for directing maintenance processes, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and electronic components.The Maintenance Technical Manager will oversee maintenance staff and ensure safe, efficient operation of facility systems and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- strong electrical troubleshooting skills with the ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and ladder logic.
- Extensive experience in TPM program development and implementation.
- High energy, strong communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Personnel management experience, with a focus on driving team performance.
- strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Experience with plastic processes is a plus.
- Ability to work in both office and floor environments.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand and use hands frequently for tools and controls.
- Occasionally required to walk, climb, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Ability to lift/move up to 10 lbs. regularly, 25 lbs. frequently, and 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities- Develop and maintain training programs for correct operating procedures and preventive/predictive maintenance.
- Cultivate a Safety-First culture and enforce 5S standards and safe work practices.
- Maintain a spare parts inventory and ensure proper documentation of building, equipment, and grounds.
- Manage internal staff and external contractors for various facility and equipment tasks.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and direct the work of others as needed.
- Create standard work instructions and recommend process improvements for optimal quality and efficiency.
- Oversee facility systems, including power, compressed air, hydraulic, and fire suppression systems.
- Develop and implement TPM programs, promoting precision maintenance techniques like vibration analysis, infrared, and ultrasound.
- Coordinate equipment repairs, work assignments, and machine maintenance.
- Assist with the purchase of special equipment and materials, ensuring specifications and quality standards are met.
- Supervise and train Maintenance Technicians, delegating tasks as needed.
- Flexibility to work off-shifts for observation, analysis, and training purposes.
