Litigation Business Systems Consultant

Overview:

We are seeking a Data Analyst to join the Litigation Data Analysis unit (LDA) within the Litigation Department (about 350 employees). LDA provides data analytics to measure the performance of the Litigation Department – both staff counsel (in-house) and panel counsel (external), and guide decision making around capacity expansion, etc.

LDA is a small team, currently comprising a Director and a Manager. The candidate will report to the Manager.

The candidate will have a strong professional data analytics background, having demonstrated the ability to work with very large datasets in multiple environments and solve complex data problems. The candidate must be able to work independently while being an exceptional team player.

Additionally, the candidate must be able to prioritize multiple tasks, communicate succinctly and clearly, and engage effectively with both other units within the Litigation Department (e.g., Litigation Technology Solutions and Litigation staff Counsel Offices), and the broader AmTrust organization (e.g., Claims Department).

Responsibilities:

Reporting
  • Prepare regular scheduled reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly)
  • Test data accuracy of report outputs (KPIs, metrics)
Data integrity
  • Conduct litigation data analysis and validation within litigation system (Litify Salesforce) to identify data accuracy issues and propose corrective actions at both the data source level and data analytics levels.
  • Conduct litigation data analysis within corporate systems (ANA Claims and SQL Datamart) to identify same as well as inconsistencies between litigation and corporate systems.
Ad-hoc and Support at the Direction of LDA Management
  • Develop new and maintain existing reports and dashboards in litigation system
  • Enhance/transition report production and dashboards in/to PowerBI
  • Respond to one-off data and analytics requests from various entities within Litigation
  • Assist in producing presentation materials

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree: Computer and/or Data Sciences major or concentration preferred
  • 3+ years of experience working in data analysis
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Familiarity with PowerPoint, Salesforce, SQL and PowerBI
  • Ability to handle dynamic work environment with multiple priorities
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Professional demeanor; ability to engage with and communicate to senior leadership
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed
  • Location Flexible: Remote – New York Tri-State preferred
The salary range for this role is $$78,000/yr-$85,000/yr. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York. Base pay offered may vary depending on, but not limited to education, experience, skills, geographic location, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics.

This range may be modified in the future.
