Job Summary:

As a Cloud Security Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing, managing, and optimizing cloud security measures to protect sensitive data and systems within cloud environments. You will work closely with the IT, DevOps, and Security teams to design and maintain secure cloud architectures, monitor security threats, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cloud Security Architecture:
  • Design, implement, and maintain secure cloud architectures for public, private, and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Collaborate with IT and DevOps teams to ensure security best practices are integrated into the cloud infrastructure from the ground up.
  • Threat Monitoring and Incident Response:
  • Monitor cloud environments for security threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents using advanced security tools.
  • Develop and implement incident response plans for cloud-based security breaches, including containment, eradication, and recovery processes.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Ensure that cloud security measures comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, ISO/IEC 27001, and others.
  • Conduct risk assessments and audits of cloud environments to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
  • Security Tools and Automation:
  • Deploy and manage cloud security tools, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), security information and event management (SIEM) systems, and encryption technologies.
  • Automate security processes to enhance efficiency and reduce the potential for human error.
  • Identity and Access Management (IAM):
  • Implement and manage IAM solutions to control access to cloud resources, ensuring that only authorized users have access to sensitive data and systems.
  • Conduct regular reviews of access policies and permissions to maintain security integrity.
  • Data Protection and Encryption:
  • Develop and implement data protection strategies, including encryption, data loss prevention (DLP), and secure data storage solutions in cloud environments.
  • Ensure that data at rest and in transit is protected using strong encryption methods.
  • Continuous Improvement:
  • Stay up to date with the latest cloud security trends, threats, and technologies.
  • Provide recommendations for improving security practices and infrastructure based on new developments and emerging threats.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Document cloud security policies, procedures, and configurations.
  • Prepare detailed reports on security incidents, assessments, and compliance status for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of [2] years of experience in cloud security engineering, cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Certifications:
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or similar are preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong understanding of cloud security principles, architecture, and best practices.
  • Proficiency with cloud security tools and technologies (e.g., IAM, SIEM, IDS/IPS, encryption tools).
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for security automation.
  • Analytical Skills:
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex security issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Communication:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Attention to Detail:
  • High level of attention to detail with a commitment to ensuring the security and integrity of cloud environments.
