Collections Specialist - Robert Half

We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Collections Specialist in Aston, Pennsylvania. This role is based in a credit union environment and primarily involves managing and processing customer credit applications. The Collections Specialist will also maintain accurate customer records, manage customer inquiries, and monitor customer accounts.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately and efficiently process customer credit applications.
• Maintain and update customer credit records regularly.
• Handle customer inquiries in a timely manner.
• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate actions when necessary.
• Resolve customer issues pertaining to credit and collections.
• Ensure adherence to industry regulations and standards in all collections procedures.
• Communicate with customers to address any discrepancies or issues with their accounts.
• Implement strategies to reduce the number of delinquent accounts.
• Regularly review and update collections and credit processing protocols.
• Collaborate with other team members to achieve overall organizational goals.
• Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Higher education or specialized training/certification may be preferred.
• Proven experience in a Collections Specialist role or similar position.
• Proficiency in using computers for data collection and reporting.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information according to policy.
• Demonstrated skills in negotiation and conflict resolution.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with debtors.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
• Knowledge of relevant legal requirements and regulations related to collections.
• Ability to analyze and understand financial data.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
