Our company is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to join our team as an Intake/Billing Specialist. The selected candidate will handle comprehensive patient information intake and be involved in the detailed process of data entry and billing services within our laboratory setting.

Responsibilities:

• Receive and log incoming patient samples and associated data into our laboratory information system efficiently and accurately.
• Execute data entry tasks related to patient billing, ensuring highest levels of accuracy and timeliness.
• Strictly maintain patient record confidentiality in accordance with established medical and personal information security regulations.
• Collaborate with lab and clinical personnel to rectify any discrepancies within patient records or data.
• Stay current with billing regulations and practices, particularly those specific to laboratory services.
• Develop a thorough understanding of our company's accessioning procedures and protocols.
• Regularly engage in quality control measurements to ensure absolute accuracy in data entry.
• Address and resolve any issues related to billing and data entry.
• Support and provide necessary training to other staff members as required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent. A degree in Medical Billing, Health Information Management, or a related field is advantageous.
• Prior experience in data entry, preferably within a medical or laboratory environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with billing software applications.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Capacity to multitask and effectively meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and coding is preferred.
• Familiarity with HIPAA rules and regulations.
