Material Handler
GENERAL FUNCTION:
The Materials Handler I will work with Warehouse/Materials Lead to ensure the highest possible quality receiving, shipping and overall warehouse coordination.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safely operate forklift equipment to ensure appropriate placement and retrieval of all materials/products; moves cases, crates, packaged merchandise and other material about the warehouse between loading platform and storage areas. Load and unload, stack and otherwise sort merchandise in designated areas in the warehouse; packs and wraps merchandise when required.Assemble and label (as needed) pick racks, shelving, lockers and cabinets to ensure all product is organized throughout warehouse. Sort various materials (i.e. lenses and laps) to ensure efficient picking for store orders. Fills orders from warehouse stock; groups items together, according to order specifications.
Ensure that all outgoing and incoming orders and shipments are complete and correct before shipping or accepting. Performs others tasks necessary for shipping and/or receiving of supplies.
EDUCATION:
HS diploma or equivalent required
EXPERIENCE:
Previous warehousing and forklift experience required; The ability to lift/carry up to 70 pounds; Strong organizational skills; Clear and effective communicator; The ability to work in a standing/walking position for up to 8 hours per day; The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Specific Skills Needed:
Forklift certification/Material handling/lift minimum of 50 lbs
