We are currently looking to add a highly skilled and compassionate Ophthalmic Technician to join our dynamic team.

Job Description:

As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of our ophthalmology practice. Your primary responsibility will be to assist ophthalmologists during exams and procedures, perform diagnostic tests, and ensure a smooth patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:
Prepare patients for exams by obtaining medical history, taking vital signs, and conducting preliminary eye tests (visual acuity, intraocular pressure, etc.).
Perform diagnostic tests including but not limited to refraction, tonometry, pachymetry, visual fields, and fundus photography.
Assist ophthalmologists in various procedures, ensuring a sterile and efficient environment.
Provide patient education on eye care and explain diagnostic tests.
Document patient information accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
Assist with the preparation and sterilization of surgical instruments.
Schedule patient appointments and manage follow-up care as needed.

Maintain and troubleshoot ophthalmic equipment.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates degree or certification in Ophthalmic Technology preferred.

Certification as an Ophthalmic Technician (COA, COT, or COMT) preferred.
Prior experience in an ophthalmology or healthcare setting is highly desirable.
Proficient with ophthalmic instruments and diagnostic equipment.
Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and ability to multitask.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and provide exceptional patient care.
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
