Responsibilities:

Position Summary:

The Hospice RN is a professional care giver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients, as part of an interdisciplinary team, for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/ instrumentation, and other health care team members.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• One year RN experience in acute care, home health or hospice
• Current California RN License
• Ability to provide appropriate and compassionate care to terminally ill patients and their family
• Meets patient/family needs in a cost-effective manner through efficient use of resources
• Current BLS Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• Current Driver’s License and Auto Insurance
• Nurses working 12 hour shifts must be available to work three (3) shifts in a calendar month
• All supplemental nurses must be available to work at least one (1) holiday between January 1 and June 30th and one (1) holiday between July 1st and December 31st each calendar year
