DESCRIPTION**

We are looking for a talented Product compliance & certification - Hazardous Location specialist to join our team for our Cummins Inc. facility in Fridley, MN.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

+ **Ensuring Compliance:** By interpreting and communicating environmental regulations, you’ll ensure that all company products, processes, and facilities adhere to necessary standards, minimizing legal risks and promoting sustainability.

+ **Technical Expertise:** Applying your specialized knowledge in engineering or project management, you’ll tackle complex components or projects, ensuring regulatory compliance and enhancing overall project quality.

+ **Cross-Functional Collaboration:** As a key contributor, you’ll work with various stakeholders to drive project success, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring that environmental compliance is integrated into all relevant projects.

+ **Training and Meetings:** By identifying, establishing, and facilitating compliance meetings and trainings, you’ll educate and empower internal teams, promoting a culture of compliance and continuous improvement.

+ **Project Leadership** : Leading small projects or parts of larger ones, you’ll drive efforts to improve environmental performance, streamline compliance processes, and identify opportunities for common processes and tools.

+ **Stakeholder Communication:** You’ll communicate with and influence key external stakeholders and business leaders, ensuring that compliance issues are escalated and resolved appropriately, maintaining the company’s reputation and operational integrity.

+ **Mentorship and Knowledge Transfer:** Coaching and mentoring less experienced compliance personnel, you’ll help build a knowledgeable and capable team, ensuring the continuity and growth of compliance expertise within the organization.

+ **Innovative Solutions:** Proposing innovative initiatives and projects, you’ll troubleshoot complex problems and recommend appropriate actions, driving continuous improvement and positioning the company as a leader in environmental compliance.

**Education, Licenses, Certifications:**

College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or related technical or scientific field required.

**Experience:**

Intermediate level of relevant work experience required. Experience across organizations and global regions preferred. Knowledge of the function being worked in preferred.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

+ Previous experience in hazardous location and/or industrial equipment preferred.

+ Familiar with Hazloc standards (IEC 60079 series), the IECEx Scheme, the ATEX Directive and North American certification process and division standards

+ A Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or relevant compliance experience in an industrial manufacturing business is a plus.

+ The ideal candidate will have at least 5-7 years of professional experience in a comparable function

+ As a Hazloc Technical specialist, you will work on a variety of projects and provide high quality compliance requirements and certification services You'll have the ability to interpret standards, follow processes and procedures, as well as provide technical guidance

+ You will have the opportunity to work with Electrolyser/Fuel Cell/Energy storage battery system/Fuel deliver systems products build and shipped across the globe, to assist in certifying the products where you will review samples, drawings, schematics and reports to ensure complete safety compliance

+ Manage certification projects concurrently ensuring compliance with all applicable safety requirements

+ Achieve completion of projects within time frames and quality standards

+ Liaise with project team to ensure requirements of national/ international standards are accurately identified

+ Assist in determining applicable requirements, test and standards

+ Assist in determining sample requirements for testing

+ Demonstrates understanding of the process and accreditation requirements of reports and certification documents
