These insights help advertisers drive awareness, consideration, and purchase of their products by hundreds of millions of shoppers and audiences (e.g., Prime Video & Twitch) around the world.
With a broad mandate to experiment and innovate, we use innovative engineering, science, data technologies to unearth action driven insights and actions from petabyte size data. We also collaborate with data scientists to ensure advertisers receive their relevant insights to capture market opportunities and trends.The flywheel drives advertiser success and Amazon’s growth.
We are looking for a highly motivated date engineer to design, develop, and maintain systems that serve the needs of our large and growing advertiser base.
Key job responsibilities- Share in the ownership of the technical vision and strategy of our products.
- Apply broad knowledge of technology options, technology platforms, design techniques and approaches across the Data Engineering ecosystem to design systems that meet business needs.
- You will analyze the business problems and design reliable, scalable data storage and analytics systems that enable the business and our products to scale.
- Play a leading role in building systems and datasets using software and data engineering best practices, data management fundamentals, data storage principles, and operational excellence best practices.
- Analyze source systems, define underlying data sources and transformation requirements, design suitable data models and document the design/specifications
- Effectively communicate with various teams and stakeholders, escalate technical and managerial issues at the right time and resolve conflicts
- Drive process improvements that scale the impact of your team.
- Collaborate with top-notch, multi-disciplinary technical professionals (e.g., Software Development Engineers, Data Scientists, and Product Managers) to deliver on behalf of customers.
- Use introspection and feedback from teammates and peers to raise the bar for your team.
- Be an example of Amazon's leadership principles and work to grow peers within your group.- 5+ years of data engineering experience
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience with SQL
- Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
- Experience mentoring team members on best practices- Experience operating large data warehouses
- Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $139,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $240,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.Amazon is a total compensation company.
