Robert Half - Assistant Controller

3. Preference for experience from the Big 4 or large regional public accounting firm

Chris Preble is working with a Syracuse client of his that has a newly created Assistant Controller role. This position is with a well respected organization that has grown a lot and there's a lot of opportunity for growth here for you. Responsibilities:

• Be actively involved in managing the general ledger.
• Regularly prepare and review financial statements, making certain of their accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• Support the close processes at the end of each month and year, which includes handling reconciliations and journal entries.
• Play a crucial role in the creation and implementation of internal controls and financial policies.
• Keep a close eye on cash flow and participate in forecasting and budgeting activities.
• Collaborate with auditors by providing the necessary documentation for internal and external audits.
• Ensure that all tax regulations are complied with and assist in tax filings and reporting.
• Analyze financial data and make recommendations to enhance financial performance.
• Be responsible for process improvements and system implementations to boost efficiency.
• Supervise the accounting staff, providing necessary guidance and training.
• Excellent communication skills
• Must have a foundation in public accounting and be a CPA
