Bindery/Machine Operator Job Summary

Perform all necessary duties in regard to production of direct mail

material. The operator will use folding, tabbing, cutting, sealing and

inserting equipment. The operator will feed, presort, tray or sack mail to

USPS standards.

Duties and Responsibilities

Understand basic USPS requirements for proper addressing and mailing

preparation.

Read and understand the Direct Mail paperwork and all additional

instructions including the postal forms.

Review job instructions for accuracy including statement paperwork

and material for job.

Attach proper paperwork to completed material from production.

Sort, tray and strap finished mail pieces in compliance with US

Postal standards

Understand the needed production quota required to maintain the

mailing schedule.

Perform all necessary Quality Control functions on the job being

worked on.

Monitor and report the status of all machinery and equipment at

workstations.

Understand machinery/equipment set up including use of computer and

data import into software.

Perform basic machinery/equipment repairs and adjustments to ensure

quality and speed.

Assist co-workers in all functions of jobs to ensure maximum

efficiency.

Ensure all safety requirements are being met at all times for all

functions of the job.

Works overtime as needed to ensure smooth flow of work in progress

and job completion in a timely manner.

Perform all duties as assigned by the Production or Department

Manager.

Drive transport vehicles, such as trucks and vans, when necessary to

move stock

Warehouse Worker Requirements and Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required

Valid driver's license

Experience with an MBO letter folder and Kirk Rudy inkjet and

tabber.

Able to work on your feet for 8 hour shifts and lift 30 lbs on a

regular basis

Basic computer skills for maintaining inventory logs and databases

Good communication skills, both written and verbal
