Staff Accountant

This Staff Accountant role's duties will require preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation.
This role is for someone who wants to perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. Major responsibilities
  • Partake in various department-wide initiatives
  • Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting
  • Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision
  • Manage schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
  • Coordinate and analyze a variety of financial data, then report it in a way that is useful and understandable
  • Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
  • Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested
  • Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
  • Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions
  • Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
  • Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries
  • Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation - Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
  • Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
  • Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Efficient in ERP systems
  • Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
  • Financial analysis experience
  • Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
  • Recent and relevant accounting experience
  • Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
  • Be detailed, flexible, and organized
  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
