We are offering an exciting opportunity in the financial sector located in Grand Blanc, Michigan. The role of Credit/Collections Supervisor/Manager involves managing member solutions collection programs and ensuring portfolio performance. This role is based in a credit union setting and entails a wide range of responsibilities, from loan underwriting to bankruptcy processing.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage the credit union's Member Solution's Collection programs to ensure efficiency
  • Lead the Member Solutions Department, coaching and training team members in diverse areas such as loan restructures, bankruptcy processing, and loan servicing
  • Handle loan underwriting for consumer, mortgage, and commercial loans
  • Oversee areas of Bankruptcy Administration, Reserve Analysis, Credit Bureau Disputes, Deposit and Loan Fraud, Foreclosures, and Repo Assets
  • Stay updated on compliance matters associated with the department responsibilities and advocate for necessary changes
  • Act as a liaison between Credit Union Team Members, Loan Review Committees, Members, and other credit union department leaders
  • Handle third-party vendor management for the collections arena, collection system configuration, and deploying internal credit risk controls
  • Assist the Chief Lending Officer with planning and strategic initiatives
  • Perform administrative duties in regards to requirements of Secondary Mortgage Market Due Diligence requirements as well as SBA, Student Lending and all other internal needs of the Member Solutions Department.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a credit/collections supervisor/manager role or similar and 3 years supervising a team.
  • Experience working in a banking and/or credit union environment is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in managing Portfolio Performance
  • In-depth knowledge of Credit Portfolio
  • Experience in handling Commercial Collections
  • Understanding of Loan Structure and its implications
  • Knowledge of Bankruptcy Law, particularly from a Creditor's perspective
  • Experience in dealing with Foreclosure cases
  • Familiarity with the workings of the Federal Reserve
  • Expertise in Credit Risk Management
  • Experience in managing Consumer Loans
  • Proficiency in Commercial Lending processes
  • Knowledge of Commercial Mortgage procedures
  • Experience in dealing with Mortgage Default cases
  • Understanding of Loan Underwriting and Mortgage Loan Underwriting
  • Familiarity with Credit Risk Models and their application
  • Experience in handling Student Loans
  • Understanding of Credit Union Policy
  • Proficiency in Credit Underwriting
  • Knowledge of Small Business Administration procedures and policies
